Jon Vordermark
President & Founder
Jon Vordermark serves as the President and Founder of Mavendog, LLC, a Charlotte-based management consulting and project leadership firm. He leads the company’s operations, drives thought leadership, and oversees strategic growth.
With more than 25 years of experience, Jon has led high-impact project management and consulting efforts for Fortune 500 companies across the energy, manufacturing, and technology sectors. Over the years, he has built a strong reputation as the go-to leader for project recovery, consistently helping clients rescue failing or stalled initiatives. His client portfolio includes Duke Energy, SPX FLOW, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina, The Hartford, and Mecklenburg County.
In 2017, Jon founded Mavendog as a spin-off of NTT DATA, Inc., building on the leadership and consulting foundation he helped shape during his tenure there. He launched the firm to address a clear gap in the marketplace. At the time, he saw a need for project management to be treated as both a specialized service and a viable career path for independent professionals. Since then, Mavendog has delivered experienced, self-employed project leaders to manage complex, critical, and unconventional initiatives. As a result, the firm has grown into a consulting collective that unites proven 1099 consultants under one trusted brand.
Within this model, senior-level project managers provide hands-on leadership in both project execution and organizational change. These services span a wide range of needs, including enterprise program oversight, short-term tactical roles, and fractional leadership support.
Thanks to Jon’s leadership, Mavendog has achieved rapid growth. Notably, the company earned a spot on the 2024 Inc. 5000 list of America’s fastest-growing private companies. In addition, the Charlotte Business Journal recognized Mavendog as one of Charlotte’s Fast 50, highlighting it as one of the region’s fastest-growing private firms.
Earlier in his career, Jon spent nearly two decades at The Revere Group, a Chicago-based consulting and systems integration firm. During that time, he advanced to the role of Director of Business Transformation. Eventually, NTT DATA acquired the company in 2012, where Jon continued to lead and expand transformation efforts prior to launching Mavendog.
Beyond his consulting work, Jon holds a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute. He also earned his undergraduate degree from Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia.
