The Department of War SkillBridge Program provides Air Force, Army, Navy, Marine, and Coast Guard Service members (including military spouses) with the opportunity to successfully transition into the civilian workforce

Fellowship Overview
Service members have the chance to be released from duty up to six months before their date of separation.
They serve in a fellowship arrangement, receiving on-the-job training and work opportunities with a civilian company and industry of their choosing (in this case, Management Consulting).
As described in the SkillBridge program overview, “When mission permits, [Unit] Commanders who support SkillBridge participation are helping their personnel transition more seamlessly from service to a civilian career.”

Advantages For Clients
SkillBridge removes barriers to talented military professionals trained in leadership, teamwork, and mission-critical technical skills. Through the DoW SkillBridge program, participating service members bring distinct advantages to our clients' enterprise programs:
Military professionals are trained to lead with discipline, accountability, and decisiveness in demanding, high-stakes environments. They bring firsthand experience navigating uncertainty, adapting to changing priorities, coordinating cross-functional teams, and making critical decisions with limited time and resources. Accustomed to operating within complex organizations and maintaining focus on mission objectives, these service members bring the resilience, initiative, and execution discipline essential to successful enterprise programs.
Service members bring years of practical experience leading teams, managing complex operations, coordinating resources, and executing mission-critical initiatives. Many have worked with sophisticated technologies, enterprise systems, logistics, cybersecurity, and large-scale organizational programs. Their military experience often translates directly into the challenges our clients face, complemented by professional certifications and credentials such as PMP, CISSP, and active security clearances.
During their 3–6-month SkillBridge fellowship, eligible service members continue receiving military pay and benefits, allowing clients to benefit from their contributions to the program and Mavendog team at no cost.
Following their military transition, participating service members may be considered for employment opportunities with our clients. While Mavendog is not a contract-to-hire staffing firm, SkillBridge gives clients an opportunity to work alongside military professionals and recognize their potential for longer-term, full-time roles. Many service members, however, choose to remain with Mavendog and pursue careers in consulting.
