CHARLOTTE, North Carolina — September 13, 2019 — On September 11, 2019, Mavendog sponsored this year’s 9/11 Veteran Hiring Event, hosted by Veterans Bridge Home, Hiring Our Heroes, and North Carolina for Military Employment (NC4ME). The mission of these three highly esteemed organizations is to connect veterans and military families with a variety of veteran outreach services and employers.
This free event was open to all active duty service members, Guard and Reserve, veterans, and military spouses. It also offered employment workshops including mock interviews, resume reviews, and more.
Area employers set up booth stations to advertise their organizations and current openings to interested candidates and were, in turn, given exclusive access to military talent with a wide range of technical and soft skills. Over 70 employers attended the event, including Mavendog.
Mavendog was one of 74 employers present to meet the 300 active duty service members, Guard and Reserve, veterans, and military spouses in attendance.

Also part of the program was a moving 9/11 Remembrance ceremony, featuring a General James Amos (Ret), and Bonnie Amos. Gen. Amos is a retired United States Marine Corps officer who served as the 35th Commandant of the Marine Corps from 2010 to 2014. Mrs. Amos is the spouse of Gen. Amos and is an ambassador for Hiring our Heroes.

The event concluded with a reception for all sponsors and attendees to close out a successful day.
