CHARLOTTE, North Carolina — May 22, 2023. Mavendog had the honor of returning as a sponsor on the 17th hole at this year’s 8th Annual Charity Golf Tournament with the Charlotte Chapter of Society for Information Management (SIM). Once again, it was held at Charlotte’s prestigious Ballantyne Country Club.
SIM Charlotte is a premier network for IT leadership, providing a forum for community thought leaders to share their experiences and explore future IT direction with one another. This organization has made it their mission to contribute to the larger STEM community, with local “give back” programs such as STEM Outreach, encouraging students of all ages to pursue degrees and careers within the Information Technology space.
Their annual Charity Golf Tournament is SIM’s leading fundraiser each year, raising record funding for their STEM Outreach programs. In 2023, 120 Golfers representing 40+ generous companies participated, donating over $160K!

Mavendog sponsored the 17th hole, an exhilarating water shot that made for healthy competition. The 17th has been the Mavendog “home” for the past few years sponsoring the event. The table was run by Mavendog staff William Leslie, Marketing Manager and Consultant, and Melissa Austin, Senior Consultant. The “table team” offered players information, Mavendog swag and refreshments throughout the hot day. Tournament players had the opportunity to enter our raffle for a phenomenal prize package including a one night stay at the Hyatt Centric South Park and a $150 gift card at Mizu Restaurant.

The Mavendog tournament team consisted of Mavendogs Mike House and Jon Vordermark, along with Rachel Ready, a VP of Technology Product at Maestro Health, and Michael Del Priore, CIO at Diversey . While the team may not have come home with the trophy this year, great fun was had by all!
