CHARLOTTE, North Carolina — October 14, 2020. As a part of Mavendog’s mission and support of Veteran and military spouse employment, Mavendog was honored to be one of the employers for this year’s North Carolina For Military Employment (NC4ME) and Veterans Bridge Home (VBH) Charlotte hiring event.

NC4ME is “a coalition of organizations from the public and private sectors working together to implement a unique, employer-centric approach to military hiring.” By leveraging existing workforce development resources and technology, NC4ME’s mission is to educate key business leaders on the inherent value of employing a military workforce, first by showing small business and human resource professionals how to hire military personnel, and then by connecting military talent with open opportunities throughout North Carolina.

Veterans Bridge Home is a nonprofit organization bridging the gap between Veterans and the larger community since 2010. Based out of Charlotte, North Carolina, Veterans Bridge Home creates a strong support system for Veterans and other transitioning military personnel by identifying and presenting employment opportunities in the local community. The nonprofit also offers to connect relocated Veterans with housing resources to make the transition that much easier.

Together, these two organizations host an annual, Charlotte-based hiring event in order to connect available Veterans and military personnel with potential networking and employment opportunities. With COVID presenting challenges for any in-person events, NC4ME created a virtual platform to conduct this year’s hiring event.

Mavendog has had a symbiotic relationship with these organizations since its founding. For these recruiting events in particular, it’s about finding employment for our men and women in uniform and their spouses. ”Obviously they are a source of fantastic consulting talent,” Vordermark continued. “ But they are also a big part of our company’s civic priorities — easing the civilian to military transition. I grew up in an Army family and witnessed the challenges of transitioning from military to civilian life. I take great pride in supporting these fantastic organizations, whether as an employer at a recruiting event, or as a patron of all the good they do for our heroes.”
