Columbia, South Carolina — September 30, 2024. Mavendog, a leading provider of project leadership solutions, is proud to sponsor the first annual SIM South Carolina STEM Charity Golf Tournament. Held on Monday, September 30th at The Wildewood Country Club, the tournament brought together IT executives from across the state and Carolinas to support STEM education and bridge the gender gap in technology.

The company’s sponsorship helped contribute to the tournament’s overall success and raised funds for the Dottie Rose Foundation, an organization dedicated to promoting computer science education and empowering young women in the field. Founded by Dr. Sharon Torrence Jones, the foundation recognizes the importance of closing the gender gap in technology and offers summer camps and other programs to encourage girls to explore STEM fields and develop essential skills. At the SIM South Carolina STEM Charity Golf Tournament, a $5,000 check was awarded to the foundation. Dr. Jones expressed her gratitude for such generous donations, which help keep the foundation’s programs running and accessible to students.

Mavendog sponsored the 3rd hole, a picturesque water shot that provided a challenging and exciting test for golfers throughout the day. Our Marketing and Sales Coordinator, Jada Cardwell had a great time interacting with attendees and showcasing what Mavendog has to offer. She greeted players with refreshing drinks, Mavendog merch, and golf gadgets. The beautiful weather made the day even more enjoyable, and the view from our hole was simply stunning.

As an added bonus, tournament players had the chance to enter our raffle for a fantastic prize: a Hot and Cold Compact Electric Hand-Held Massager. It was the perfect way to relax and unwind after a round of golf.

We’d like to congratulate the SIM South Carolina Chapter on the success of their inaugural golf tournament! Co-Founders Toni Harrison-Hogan and John Murdock did an outstanding job organizing this event, and it was clear that there was a great deal of enthusiasm and support from the local IT community.

As long standing SIM members, and with several of our affiliates actively involved, we were thrilled to participate and support this important cause. Mavendog is in the process of expanding into the South Carolina regions, so this was a fantastic opportunity to connect with other professionals in the area.

We are particularly impressed by the SIM South Carolina Chapter’s focus on providing a platform for idea sharing, collaboration, and knowledge exchange because it can be invaluable.
