CHARLOTTE, North Carolina — October 28, 2025 — Mavendog is pleased to welcome James “Brad” Cantrell as a Senior Consultant and Affiliate within our Project & Change Delivery (PCD) practice.

Brad brings more than 20 years of experience supporting operational, engineering, and cross-functional initiatives in complex manufacturing and industrial environments. His work consistently centers on helping teams understand how work actually gets done, then translating that reality into clear, structured, and executable project outcomes.

With a degree in Control Systems Engineering, Brad built his foundation in automation, process thinking, and structured problem-solving. Throughout his career, he has applied that mindset to process mapping, workflow coordination, change management, and procedural documentation across multiple sites and stakeholder groups. He is trained in Lean and Six Sigma methodologies through the U.S. Navy’s Airspeed program, reinforcing his practical, data-driven approach to continuous improvement.

Brad spent eight years at Midrex Technologies supporting large-scale programs in the U.S. and internationally, partnering closely with engineering, operations, supply chain, and vendor teams on initiatives involving equipment transitions, workflow changes, labor modeling, cost considerations, and plant-level procedural alignment. His experience includes extensive work in metals manufacturing and industrial operations, supporting large-scale programs in highly regulated, capital-intensive environments.

Earlier in his career, Brad served as a U.S. Marine Corps officer and CH-53E Super Stallion pilot. That experience shaped a leadership style grounded in clear communication, disciplined execution, and calm decision-making in high-pressure environments. He has carried those strengths into his civilian career, particularly in situations where teams need help organizing complex information, clarifying requirements, and converting operational detail into actionable project deliverables.

In his work with Mavendog, Brad supports Engagement Leads by gathering plant-level process information, mapping production steps and functional handoffs, documenting variations across locations, and surfacing operational insights relevant to BOM structures and routing frameworks. He brings a steady, practical communication style and deep experience interviewing subject matter experts and synthesizing workflow data into usable outputs that teams can actually execute against.

“Brad has a rare combination of engineering discipline, operational experience, and leadership maturity. He understands how plants run, how teams think, and how decisions ripple downstream. That perspective is invaluable to clients who need clarity, not theory, and execution that holds up under real-world conditions.” – Jon Vordermark, President of Mavendog

We are excited to welcome Brad to Mavendog and look forward to the value he will deliver for our clients and teams.
