CHARLOTTE, North Carolina — May 20, 2024. On Monday May 20th, Mavendog had the privilege of sponsoring the Society For Information Management (SIM) Charlotte Chapter “Tech on the Tees” charity golf tournament at the Ballantyne Country Club. Beautiful weather and a truly wonderful, well-run event. The highlight its success, the tournament raised over $160K in funds for local STEM causes. We believe that’s a new record!
Hats off to all the SIM leaders and volunteers who kept the engine running smoothly all day. An extra special thank-you to SIM tournament leads Randall Franklin and James Kimble for getting us squared away with our sponsorship. Also, thank you to our fellow sponsors, and of course ALL the IT leaders who came out to play and visited with us on hole #17. The 17th hole has been the Mavendog “home” for the past few years sponsoring the event. Be sure to check out our Mavendog signage at Ballantyne Country Club next year.
We also want to send a shout-out our IT Executive/Mavendog foursome, which included Terry Payne, Suzanne Collins, Christina Lutkus, and our own Jon Vordermark. A great round, especially from Terry, who pulled the team through with incredibly stellar play. Suzanne also won the closest to the pin competition, and Christina won longest drive competition. Solid!

Thank you to our Mavendog lead Amy Heddleson, who ran our sponsored hole. Amy offered players information, Mavendog swag and refreshments throughout the hot day. Tournament players had the opportunity to enter our raffle for a prize package that includes a one night stay at the Hyatt Centric South Park and a $150 gift card at Mizu Restaurant.
2024 was Mavendog’s 5th year of sponsoring the tournament, and we’ll be back in 2025. Hope to see everyone again soon!
