CHARLOTTE, North Carolina — September 16, 2023. Mavendog’s President Jon Vordermark presented at PMI Carolina and PMI Triad NC’s annual Professional Development Day (PDD). Mavendog also had the honor of sponsoring. The Project Management Institute (PMI) is the leading professional association in project management.
It was a marked year for this year’s PDD, which was the first time the event was held in person since before the COVID pandemic. The face-to-face forum created a buzz of renewed energy, with a fantastic list of speakers, sponsors, professional networking, and PMI-community celebration.

This year, PMI Carolina and PMI Triad partnered together to reach a wider, Project Management audience across North Carolina. Jon presented on “Project Management Consulting and an Exploration of Soft Skills”, discussing the qualities of good problem solving and decision making. The talk wove together philosophical, experiential, and even neurological aspects of project and consultative work.
A huge thanks to the chapter volunteers who made the event happen. Hat’s off as well to the leadership of Rhonda Evans, President of the chapter. We also would like to thank Wake Forest University Charlotte Center for providing such a fantastic, modern venue.
